On September 20th, The House Armed Services Committee held a hearing titled “Department of Defense Plans for Sequestration: The Sequestration Transparency Act of 2012 [PL 112-155] Report and the Way Forward.” Officials testified about automatic budget cuts scheduled for January 2013, known as sequestration. the focus of the hearing was on planning for sequestration and the likely impact on military preparedness and the need for a quick resolution of the problem if Congress were to act to prevent sequestration.
