A group opposed to pending reductions in the federal budget says defense contractors in Nevada (including many in the Reno-Sparks-Carson City area) might eliminate nearly 4,000 jobs if the cuts aren’t rescinded. The report prepared by the Center for Security Policy for the Coalition of the Common Defense says the state’s economy would take a $285 million annual hit from reduced defense spending.
